Can I show family trees in Ponga?
Great idea. We don't currently display it for you, and we can always link to external pages. We'd love to know more about what you need.
Well, we don't currently build it for you automatically, though, hm... 🤔 that's an interesting feature idea.
One of the great challenges with family trees is that they're organic and continually growing and changing. Our approach has been to work with tools already out there for cloud-based archival and referencing of family trees.
You can link directly to any of them, but since they're all behind either a paywall or some kind of authentication mechanism, you'll want to include the links without the "https://" protocol designator. That will tell Ponga to not attempt to embed the media.
Here's an example from the picture Audie frequently shares to show different kinds of media that can be linked to a Ponga picture. Notice here that a reference is made to the individual by her ID on FamilySearch. Learn more in our tips article, 12-kinds of content you can add to a Ponga picture.
Another approach is to use Ponga to add information your family tree constructed using any visual design. You'll find some wonderful examples of this from our Ponga members. See the Family History category in our search system.
This is something we're paying a lot of attention to and if you have specific suggestions, we're all ears!
