Ponga Help

Can I use Ponga in genealogical citations?

Well, yes and no. You can use Ponga to point to citations, but not as a substitute. Rigor is still hard work ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Citations in genealogy have a long-established set of best practices. Ponga fits in as a means to engage families in the joy of storytelling but it doesn't replace the rigor of documentation and citations used in building family trees and documenting history.

At Ponga, we welcome the insights of experienced genealogy practitioners to help us develop best practices and refine features that would be helpful to the field. Reach out using the chat function at the left if you'd like to join us.

For more on best practices, see our article, Best Practices for Citations, as well a the extraordinary resources available on the web such as the community around Elizabeth Shown Mills' Evidence Explained.
